After the last 2 weeks having 4 shows each, it was time to take time to rest. My friend Britt and I went up to Ludington to visit her parents 200 ft above Lake Michigan. After hours of boogie boarding, reading, refreshments, sleeping and great conversation I was rested for this past week's shows. Funny, the weekend of start for me on Monday.
Friday, I went on a '3 hour tour' down the Muskegon River in a Canoe. It's only 3 hours if you paddle the whole time. And since the trip was sponsored by Leinenkugel's with a 12-pack in each canoe, sometimes paddling was not the most important thing. Afterwards, back at the camp ground (Vic's Canoes), I ran into a group of Lambda Chi from Western Michigan University. Being that I was Lambda Chi @ GVSU, they brought the whole crew up to the deck for an impromptu show in front of the camp store. Thanks Lambda Chi's--especially BOB.
I did have this Saturday off, which led me out to Lowell. Beginning with a short time at Teazers helpng Decadence (http://DecadenceMusic.com) set up sound. After four years of friendship with Sandy and Seneca, I was finally able to simply hang out with them and made new friends as well. With the schedule the way it is, on stage and weekly behind the scenes, opportunities to sit around a bon fire blazing in the middle of a field with friends are few and far between. So thank you ladies, Cory, Dee, Brad and the rest of you for a great 'down time'.
Although, It's not often that I get to take time off stage, on an open night, to just see the friends I've met on this journey, I appreciate the fact that we all like to see eachother when we have the time and there's no issues of why don't you hang out with us more often...blah, blah, blah. Kind of like those friends you have that you see every couple of months and you're extatic that you get to see them.....Well I think I kind of went "I Wish You were Healthy" on that one so I'll stop here.
